Spring has sprung!

It appears that spring has finally sprung here in Johnson City, TN! We have been having some beautiful sunny and warm weather over the past week. It has been so much fun to get outside and play.

This nice weather even got the Easter Bunny to come out, she was at Sam's Club on Saturday so we went to see her. She was a little scary to me at first but as long as Mommy and Daddy were with me, I was okay! I brought my purple bunny to meet the Easter bunny and now I think they have become friends.

I got all dressed up in this pretty dress for my picture with the Easter bunny!

Our rec room/playroom is officially all done. Daddy did an amazing job installing the laminate floors and rearranging the room just as Mommy wanted. It is much cozier now and I have a huge play area, I love it!

Last night Daddy and I had a Princess dance party. I got all dressed up in my Princess and the frog dress and my Cinderalla shoes and crown. We danced to Taylor Swifts Love story song and a few others, it was so much fun!

One day last week Mommy and Kara took us kids to the park to play. It was 17 degrees C out and we stayed at the park for 2 whole hours, it was awesome!

Our park has a pathway you can walk on and it has exhibits from the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia". In the picture above we climbed up to the top of the Beaver's house. In the picture below Fisher and I were trying to figure out if we like this interesting statue, he was kind of scary.

Mommy and I went on the Teeter-totter together, it was interesting, I didn't stay on too long but I did enjoy it!

Well that is all for now. We are adjusting to the time change today and enjoying a relaxing Sunday at home. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Proud to be Canadian!

Way to go Team Canada, 14 gold medals, the most ever won by a country at the winter olympics!!! We had a party at our house tonight for the USA vs. Canada hockey game, their was a mix of Canadian & American friends. It was an exciting game but thankfully the right team won! It got really loud in our house, kind of suprised me...

Daddy managed to convert Payton to a Canadian fan and Payton's daddy Jason wasn't too impressed with that!

This was the first entire game of hockey that both Jamie and Jason have ever watched, they had lots of questions for daddy about the game!!!

We got dressed in our Team Canada gear for all of the hockey games, it has been 17 days of "Go Canada Go"!!!

I told Mommy and Daddy tonight that I want to win a megal, a hockey green megal!!!

My school was cancelled for quite a few days due to winter weather, well at least what they call "winter storms", not quite comparable to what we see in Canada. This meant our Valentine's day party kept getting postponed but finally we had it!

On Granny Hollinger's last day here, Mommy brought us to the Hands on Museum, which is a really fun kids museum. Check out some of the pics she took while we were there!
Here I am riding a rocket ship!

Isn't this a really neat fish tank, Granny and I were able to get up inside and watch the fishies!

I did some grocery shopping while I was there!

Uncle Ryan bought me this really pretty princess Cinderella dress at christmas, don't I look beautiful!!!

I have been learning how to bake recently, I helped mommy make rice krispie squares for my Valentine's day party at school and I helped Granny make cookies!

Well that is all for now, the closing ceremonies is about to begin and it is sure to be a blast. Once again I am very proud to be a canadian!!!
Good night and love y'all,
Emmie

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! We had a wonderful day, mommy started off the day with a nice big breakfast, it was yummy. Mommy and Daddy got to go out for the afternoon and see a movie, while Granny Hollinger stayed at home to babysit me, thanks Granny, sounds like Mommy and Daddy had a nice time. I tried to pull out all the tricks on Granny when it came to nap time but eventually I did take my nap...lol! Check out my cute outfit that Gigi bought me for Valentine's day, isn't it cute.

Mommy, Daddy and I have been going to Family swim at their gym for the past couple of weeks and I love it. Since Granny is here visiting, she was able to come with us this weekend and she even took some pictures of us in the water. I like to swim like a fish, it is so much fun!

Here we are playing ring around the rosy, one of my favorite songs!

In the change room, I like to hide in the lockers...silly me!

Mommy let me paint in the basement again since they haven't torn out the carpet yet but it will be happening very soon. I remembered that Gigi and Papa bought me a Princess paint smock for Christmas, so I put it on to protect my clothes and it worked perfectly!

Granny arrived by plane on Wednesday night and suprised me first thing in the morning on Thursday! She brought me a birthday gift from her and Pop-pop, I love the toys and tossed away the clothes, but Mommy loved all my new clothes, thanks Granny and Pop-pop!

The day that Gigi left to go back home to Canada was my very first day at school, that's right, I am now in school. I go every tuesday and thursday from 9 am to 1:30 pm and I love it! My best friend Fisher is in my class and I have a really nice teacher, her name is Mrs. Patti. Here are some pics from my first day!

One night a few weeks ago mommy and I decided to play with my hair and put these really neat hair wraps in. They help to make big curls in my hair, I sat really nice for mommy while she put them in, check out how silly I look! The sunglasses were my idea, don't they add the perfect touch....

Well that is all for now. I am busy playing with Granny and watching the Olympics at the same time. Go Canada Go!!! Even though we are here in the US, I am cheering for Canada all the way!

Emmie

Happy 2nd Birthday to me!!!

You read the title right, I am now two years old. I have been celebrating for the past 2 days and it has been so much fun. It began friday morning when I woke up to find Gigi was here to visit me, she arrived late thursday night when I was already in bed. She brought down tons of gifts for me from lots of people back in Canada, thanks to everyone! Then we went to one of mommy and daddy friends house who does professional photography and she took my birthday pictures, you will see below a preview of just one of many great pictures.

Then on my actual birthday, I woke up and mommy opened my blinds to show me that we had a big snow storm over night and I was going to be able to go outside and play in the snow.

I went sledding at the Battel's house and we had a huge fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows! I stayed out for over 2 hours and I loved every minute of it.

We got about 5-6 inches of snow, enough that daddy actually had to shovel the driveway. We even had to lend our shovel to a couple of our neighbors!

I had lots of gifts arrive from the UPS delivery man on my birthday as well. He delivered me a gift from Auntie Amy, these really cool Princess board books and princess pyjamas. I got flowers from Great Gramma Hollinger, they were so pretty and had a Mickey Mouse balloon attached. I also got a huge doll house, just for me, it is actually taller than me, I love it!

Gigi made a whole bunch of cupcakes for my party, for all my friends and I. They were so yummy, they had chocolate, vanilla, pink and green sprinkles and these really neat Tinkerbell rings! Thanks Gigi for all your help getting things ready for my party.

Daddy also brought me a huge collection of Tinkerbell balloons, one of the balloons was as big as me, it was so cool! Gigi brought down my Christmas gifts from my cousins up in Sudbury and I got to open them on my birthday, I got some really nice stuff, including the jogging suit I am wearing in the picture below. It is a Vancouver 2010 outfit, I am all set for the Olympics!

Not only did we have cupcakes at my party, we also had this really yummy carrot cake that Fisher's mommy, Kara made just for me, all from scratch, thanks Kara!

Now my party was a paint and pizza party, so of course all of us kids got to paint pictures with real paint and paint brushes. Mommy and Daddy rearranged the rec room in the basement and setup colouring sheets and paint all over the room. All of my friends parents thought mommy and daddy were crazy but I promise they aren't. We are redoing the carpet in that room so it didn't matter if we made a mess! And we did make quite the mess!!!

Look at what the basement looked like by the end of the night, wow, we did a pretty good job, didn't we!!!

After we finished painting we got to have cupcakes and cake, I needed some help from mommy and my friends to blow out my candles but we did it!

Ella decided it would be fun to go back downstairs at the end of the night and paint her whole face, doesn't she look scary!

I was exhausted at the end of the night, all partied out! Daddy and I sat down on the couch together to watch a show before I went to bed.

Mommy and Daddy finally finished redoing my old room for my new baby sister, Paige. I think they did a really good job, it is very pretty, I hope my little sister likes it. Before they even told Great Granny what colours they painted the room she had already shipped down a beautiful blanket that matches perfectly, great job Great Granny!

Now it is the day after my birthday and I am still opening gifts. I got this really neat trampoline from Gigi and Papa, an indoor trampoline. I helped daddy put it together, I am such a good little helper.

Well that is all for now, we are going to have a relaxing Sunday today, I think it might be a pyjama day! Thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts and all of you who were able to come and celebrate at my party.

Love y'all,

Emmie
